The Nationals Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Melina Bath said Children’s Week grants are available for local governments and not for profit agencies that support children in our community.
Ms Bath said Children’s Week celebrates and recognises the talents, skills, achievements and the rights of children living in our community.
“The grants are $1000 in value and are designed to help fund free celebrations and activities such as open days, education programs and displays and special events throughout Children’s Week in Victoria.
Children’s Week will be celebrated between Saturday 19 October to Sunday 27 October 2019 and involves free activities for thousands of children from birth through to 12 years throughout Victoria.
Ms Bath said Children’s Week has been a long running celebration for Victoria’s young citizens.
“It is a fun week designed for young people, involving a variety of creative and educational activities designed to stimulate young minds,” said Ms Bath.
“Children’s Week activities are only limited by the imagination but can include art workshops and exhibitions, outdoor and messy play activities, dance and drama workshops, musical performances and even sport and recreational activities,” said Ms Bath.
Grant guidelines state the activities must be offered free of charge and be hosted with Children’s Week in Victoria and involve multiple children from early childhood institutions and/or schools.
Children’s Week funding applications close on 5 July 2019.
